Mr. Promod Nair is a highly esteemed Senior Advocate at the High Court of Karnataka, with over 30 years of experience in the legal profession. He is also a Solicitor-Advocate registered with the Law Society of England and Wales.
After completing his Bachelor of Laws degree from Bangalore University, Mr. Nair went on to earn his Master of Laws from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. He began his legal career in 1991, practicing in civil and commercial litigation at various courts and tribunals across India. He has extensive experience in international arbitration and has served as a member of the LCIA Court between 2013 and 2018. Currently, he is a Council Member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, where he serves on the Proceedings Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Council of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration and a Governing Council Member of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad. Promod Nair has also served as India’s correspondent for the UNCITRAL CLOUT project and is a member of the UNCITRAL Coordination Committee for India. He also coordinates the Permanent Court of Arbitration India Committee.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Nair is actively involved in various professional organizations. He has served as the Secretary of the Bangalore Advocates Association and is a member of the International Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales. He has also contributed articles to legal publications and has been a speaker at various legal seminars and conferences.
